Add on the Whitecaps Virtual Academy to your training plan!

Get an IDP (Individualized Development Plan) you work on with your coach:
– Individual feedback in special break-out rooms

– Meet and train with Boys MLS academy and Girls Elite Rex players

– Get noticed by Whitecaps staff


Age Group: U11-U16 (2010-2005)
Period: May 2 – July 4
Practice Day Options: Monday (click here to see the schedule)
Time (Pacific Time): 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Time (Eastern Time): 7:00 – 8:00 pm
Price: 9 sessions (1 session a week): $189 + taxes and fees

What do you need to participate

  • Wifi connected device with a camera
  • 1 ball
  • 5 x 5 yards of space (easy to set up indoor or outdoor)
  • Any flat surface
  • 6 cones (or objects as cones)


  • If you do not have a proper rebounder kit, you can use a wall, couch, table, bench, or heavy boxes as an alternative
  • If you do not have cones, you can substitute it for hockey pucks, plastic bottles, or cans

> What is the coach/participant ratio?


> How will the coach communicate individually with players?

Coaches will give specific live feedback in their breakout rooms as players train. Also, each player and parent will have a Zoom meeting with their assigned coach to discuss their Individual Development Plan.

> Do parents need to be involved?

Parents need to be involved in the Zoom meetings and to monitor their child’s safety while training and on individual sessions.

> How many days will the program run?

1 or 2 sessions per week for 8 weeks.

> How long is each day of academy?

1 hour per day.

> What will I receive from attending the Virtual Academy?

Players will be getting their IDP plan and the BMO Academy centre jersey if purchased.

> Do I need to sign-up multiple children separately or can they attend the same session?

Multiple children can be registered for the program however, they must be using different devices for the virtual program. Any special situations can be submitted to gopro@whitecapsfc.com for a special approval. Anyone who is found to be breaking this rule may be removed from the program with no refund.

> Do you offer refunds?

We review refunds out of programs on a case by case basis. Please email gopro@whitecapsfc.com.

> Is there any insurance coverage for virtual training sessions?

Players complete a player participant waiver at the start of training and parents/players are responsible for ensuring they are in a safe and suitable training environment for any virtual training.

> What digital platform will the Academy be using?


> What do I need to do activities?

Wi-fi connected device, 1 ball and 5 v 5 yards of space, 4 cones or objects as cones, shoes, and a water bottle.

> How much playing space do I need to do activities?

5 v 5 yards of space with a wall or rebounder.

> What happens if I record any part of the Virtual Academy?

Participants are not allowed to record these sessions. Whitecaps FC reserves the right to record all of our virtual program sessions for quality assurance and promotional purposes.
